The Teltonika RUT956 is a versatile industrial cellular router designed for complex IoT applications requiring serial connectivity, multiple I/O, and GNSS capabilities. Teltonika RUT956  comes with RS232 and RS485 interfaces, it bridges legacy serial devices to modern IP networks, making it ideal for SCADA systems, utility metering, building automation, and industrial IoT deployments.

Serial-to-Cellular Connectivity
The Teltonika RUT956 features a DB9 RS232 port (with RTS/CTS flow control) and a 6-pin industrial RS485 connector supporting both full-duplex (4-wire) and half-duplex (2-wire) modes. Serial functions include console access, serial-over-IP, modem emulation, MODBUS gateway, and NTRIP Client. Industrial protocol support includes Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet (IP/RTU), OPC UA, DNP3 (RS232/RS485/TCP), DLMS/COSEM, and MQTT.

Comprehensive I/O for Automation
Teltonika RUT956 router includes 3 inputs (1x dry input 0-3V, 1x galvanically isolated 0-30V, 1x analog 0-24V with 4-20mA capability) and 3 outputs (1x open collector 30V/250mA, 1x SPST relay 40V/4A, 1x open collector on power connector). The I/O juggler allows setting conditions to trigger events via email, RMS, or SMS.

Reliable Cellular Connectivity
4G LTE Cat 4 provides speeds up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload with fallback to 3G and 2G. Dual SIM slots plus optional eSIM (up to 7 profiles) ensure network redundancy with auto-switch scenarios including weak signal, data limit, roaming, and network failure. SIM idle protection prevents SIM cards from being blocked.

GNSS Location Tracking
Built-in GNSS supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS. NTRIP support enables RTK corrections for high-precision positioning. GNSS coordinates are accessible via WebUI, SMS, TAVL, and RMS. Geofencing allows configurable multiple zones for location-based alerts.

Hazardous Location Certification
The Teltonika RUT956 is certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D and Class I, Zone 2, Group IIC, making it suitable for use in hazardous environments such as oil and gas, chemical plants, and mining operations. It operates reliably from -40°C to 75°C.

Teltonika RUT956 has advanced security includes preconfigured firewall, attack prevention, VLAN support, and access control. VPN support includes OpenVPN (27 encryption methods), IPsec (IKEv1/v2, 14 methods), WireGuard, PPTP, L2TP, GRE, DMVPN, SSTP, and ZeroTier.
