What is human body filtering in CP PLUS camera?

Human body filtering in a CP PLUS camera is an intelligent detection feature that identifies human movement and can help reduce irrelevant motion alerts. CP PLUS uses the term "Human Body Detection" on several of its current camera models.

Normal motion detection can react whenever something moves inside a camera's viewing area. Depending on the location, that movement could come from a person, animal, vehicle, tree or another object.

Human detection adds another layer of analysis by attempting to identify whether the moving object is a person. This can make surveillance alerts more useful because the system can concentrate on events involving people rather than treating every movement equally.

For example, a camera covering a home's entrance may detect people approaching the door. A camera facing a garden could also experience movement from animals or vegetation. Human detection can help distinguish these types of events, although performance depends on the particular camera and conditions.

It is important to check the exact CP PLUS model before buying. Features are not identical across the company's entire camera range. CP-Z45Q and CP-Z43Q, for example, both list Human Body Detection among their features.

Human body detection should also not be confused with facial recognition. Human detection generally identifies a person-shaped subject or human presence. Facial recognition is a different technology designed to analyse and potentially match faces.

Lighting, distance, camera angle, obstructions and the camera's analytics capabilities can all affect detection.

For home and business surveillance, human filtering can therefore be useful when the objective is to reduce unnecessary motion alerts and focus attention on people detected by the camera.
