Where should I point the router antennas?
For the best WiFi coverage, keep one antenna vertical and angle the others slightly outward.
Router antennas send signals in different directions depending on their position. Keeping all antennas perfectly upright is not always the best option.
A good setup for a three-antenna router is:
- Middle antenna straight up
- Left antenna tilted about 45 degrees
- Right antenna tilted about 45 degrees in the opposite direction
This helps distribute Wi-Fi signals more evenly across different floors and rooms.
Also place your router:
- Near the center of your home
- On a shelf or table instead of the floor
- Away from thick walls, metal objects, and large appliances
Even the best antenna placement cannot fully overcome poor router placement.
