The Lexar SL500 2TB Portable SSD is a compact external solid-state storage device that connects via USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 to provide high-speed data transfer for compatible host systems.
Lexar SL500 2TB Portable SSD supports sequential read speeds of up to 2000MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800MB/s when used with devices that fully support USB 3.2 Gen 2×2. On systems with lower-bandwidth USB interfaces, performance is limited by the host connection.
The drive features a slim aluminum unibody design and is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance under controlled test conditions. It is bus-powered via USB Type-C and does not require an external power adapter.
The SL500 is compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS (including iPhone 15 series), HarmonyOS, gaming consoles, and supported cameras. It supports Apple ProRes recording on compatible iPhone 15 Pro models by functioning as external storage, not as a recording device.
Security features include Lexar DataShield software with 256-bit AES encryption for file protection. Encryption functionality depends on supported software environments and does not guarantee absolute data security.
