The TP-Link ES208G is a compact Layer 2 easy managed switch designed to provide Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and basic network management features for small office networks, surveillance systems, and segmented LAN environments.

It includes eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX support. The switch operates using a store-and-forward switching architecture, delivering a 16 Gbps switching capacity and 11.9 Mpps packet forwarding rate.

Management functions are accessible through web-based configuration or through the Omada SDN platform when an Omada controller is deployed. Cloud access and mobile app management are available through the Omada ecosystem when used with a supported controller.

The device supports Layer 2 network management features, including VLAN configuration, traffic prioritization, IGMP snooping, and loop detection. These functions allow administrators to separate network traffic, improve reliability for surveillance systems, and manage bandwidth distribution.

The switch uses a fanless metal enclosure, enabling silent operation in offices or network cabinets. It can be installed on a desktop or mounted on a wall.

Power is supplied using a 5V DC external adapter, and the switch does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Environmental operation is specified between −5°C and 45°C, with humidity tolerance between 10% and 90% non-condensing.
