Which is better: CCTV or IP camera?
Imagine you want to send a drawing to your grandma. You have two choices:
You can tie the paper to a long string and pull it all the way to her house (CCTV).
Or, you can take a picture of it with a tablet and email it instantly (IP camera).
The IP camera is usually better because its pictures are super clear and sharp, like a shiny new cartoon movie. It can also send the video through the air into the computer cloud, so parents can look at it even if they are far away at work.
The older CCTV camera uses long, heavy wires, and its video can look a bit blurry, like an old television. But CCTV has one cool trick: because it isn't connected to the internet, tricky internet monsters (hackers) can never sneak in to peek at it.Â
