Can TP-LinkRouter be used as extender?
Yes, a TP-Link router can be used as a Wi-Fi extender, but only if the model supports Range Extender Mode, Repeater Mode, WDS Bridging, or OneMesh/EasyMesh. Not every TP-Link router includes these features, so the available options depend on your specific model.
Using a router as an extender helps improve Wi-Fi coverage in areas where the main router's signal is weak. Instead of buying a dedicated Wi-Fi extender, you can repurpose a compatible TP-Link router as an extender to rebroadcast the existing wireless signal. This works well for homes with dead zones, although wireless repeating usually reduces maximum speeds because the router has to receive and retransmit data over the same Wi-Fi channel.
