To set up remote cctv viewing on Android or Iphone, first Install the camera's (or NVR/DVR's) companion app, connect your CCTV system to the internet, add the device using its serial number or QR code, and you're live from anywhere in a few minutes.
The app you need for this depends on your system -
- CP Plus systems have the CP Plus CP Pro app (iOS and Android)
- Prama Hikvision systems use iCam app or Hik-Connect
- Qubo standalone cameras work with the Qubo app
- For NVR/DVR-based systems, install the NVR manufacturer's app and add via serial number or P2P/QR code

- Download the CCTV brand's app from the App Store (e.g., Hik-Connect, CP Guard).
- Open the app and create an account, or sign in if you already have one.
- Tap Add Device, then scan the QR code on your camera/NVR, or enter the serial number manually.
- Allow camera and notification permissions when prompted.
- Your live feed should load within seconds. Enable push notifications if you want motion alerts.
Setting up remote CCTV viewing on Android
- Download the same brand's app from the Google Play Store.
- Sign in or register a new account.
- Tap Add Device and scan the QR code, or type in the device ID/serial number.
- Grant the camera and storage permissions the app asks for.
- Your feed goes live. You can also enable background running so alerts don't get killed by battery optimisation.
If you have a standalone WiFi camera, install the camera's own app. If you have an NVR/DVR based system, install the NVR's app (like CP Plus CP Pro, Prama iCam), then add the device via serial number or P2P/QR code.
If your CCTV system is on a private/local network only, remote viewing won't work until it has internet access. If fixed broadband isn't available, a 4G/5G router solves this
